My collection revolves around the simple idea of using grommets and hardware in unconventional ways. Grommets were traditionally used on corsets in the 19th century due to their ability to reinforce fabric and take on heavy stresses. I took the approach of using this hardware to create visual interest by juxtaposing this hardware against light, airy fabrics, and silhouettes. Every look was an intricate experimentation with new materials to achieve my vision.
